Ok, been looking, researching, this crazy tire problem that people are just now realizing is going to hurt their bottom line (a 20k mile OEM Expensive tire). I've looked at new wheels with higher load tires, dealer options for OEM tires (just the original one JKTyre where I am), and the only other C rated tire - Continental vanco 4 seasons. Well to replace the rims to 16s ($400) and use a tire that comes close to pressure you're looking at about $900 out the door. The OEM tires and continentals cost right about $625. NOT good if you put a lot of miles on your van.
Well I found out that Yokohama sells a 185/60/15 s series tire (avid) that has a max pressure of 51lbs. These run under $400 and have a 60k mile tread rating. Looks good to me! I dont carry a heavy load in my van, just light delivery items. Hope this helps someone.

Well I can't recommend that anyone run that light duty "Honda Civic" tire on a cargo van.

Read the specs of that tire again and you will see why. The max PSI rating of the tire is not nearly important as the load rating.


There are much better tire options for the stock 15 x 5.5" wheels but you have to go bigger.

Unbelievable...I just had Nissan authorize to pay for my 2nd set of new tires for my 2015...why the you know what did they not tell me about replacing the Axel under warranty??? I just called Nissan Com again and asked them about it...they say they know nothing...called my dealer they know nothing about it and are going to check into it...so why would Nissan buy me new tires again and not fix the problem that is causing it if they know what it is...so mad....you can actually see how badly the tires sit from behind...even though they say they are in spec!!! thank-you for the information I am working on it now...I am in Southern CA ...

Well ended up going with the Yokohama 195/60/15 - 4760 lb load tires, almost the exact weight of the van - my cargo rarely goes over 100lbs. Anyway, I must say the ride of the tires is 200% better than the oem tires. Now lets see what mileage ends up being. Out the door $380.

Quiet and they claim to handle snow well. Best part is = 70k tread wear warranty. Wear rating is like 700AA. You should get plenty of life out of these, but even if you don't roughly $400 OTD still beats the OE tires.

Nokian is known to make some of the best snow tires. They also make an all weather tire. They are NOT a no name brand.

If I can't get my hands on Nokians I'm gonna try out Milestar MS932 or ohtsu FP7000. Roads around here are too rough to use expensive tires.

Nissan is well aware of out of spec axles. Several have opened claims including myself.
Everyone needs to take there NV to a non dealer tire shop and have alignment measured and get results to prove its out of spec.

IMO, 205/60R15 is a better size tire for the OEM 15 x 5.5" wheels. The 195/65R15's are too tall in diameter although there are greater tire choices in that size.


And don't forget the load and PSI ratings for any replacement tires.

Thanks, for the info. was trying to decide between, 205/60R15 and 195/65R15. 24.7" vs 25" diameter.
I have 7000 miles on the van, live in the midwest, mostly flatland driving. Seldom have more than 600 lbs, including driver & pasenger.

What tires have you found in 195/65R15 that meet the load range requirements?


The only tires that I have found that meet the requirements, other than dedicated winter tires, are the Nokians as I posted above.

There are the Continental Vanco's in 185/60R15C's that meet the NV200 requirements but what's the point of buying that same size tiny tire?

A check on www.tirerack.com shows numerous light duty passenger tires in 195/65R15 and 205/60R15 with a load rating of 1356lbs. But they are only rated for 44psi.


These tires are inadequate IMO but if one never uses the van for carrying loads nor for work, I guess you could take the chance. The TPMS dash lite may be on for 44psi.


My NV200 is a commercial use only work van, fully loaded all the time near its GVWR of 4700lbs.

For my use, 1356 lbs tires would be ok, that would be 5424 lbs. total, for a 4700GVW van. The 91H, load range tires are 51psi max. I would run them at 44psi, that would
satisfy the TPMS dash light. My main concern is, how much does a 25" tire affect, performance, on this under powered van ?

update: researched more and went with General Altimax RT43 205/60/15 from tire rack. $273.20 for 4...thanks for all the research guys!

While that is a good tire and it does meet the NV200 max psi tire rating, it does not meet the NV200 tire load requirements of 1470 lbs.
