Anyone know if I can get the fog light assemblies for the US marketed NV? I can run my own wiring, just need to source the factory lamp assemblies and mounting clips. Any help will be appreciated! My local dealer can't find any parts list for them.

I've finally cracked the code on some parts that may help North American NV200 owners looking to add driving lamps to their vans.

This is not much of a step by step tutorial and of course, if you have automotive knowledge, all the easier.

I removed the bumper from my van which was held on by several push pins and 10mm bolts underneath. All in all, it took me 15 minutes with no prior knowledge on this van.






Poor van is all naked.
There is no wiring harness from the factory for driving/fog lamps. I had to make my own using a standard relay and a 30amp battery tap which is fused. The relay is controlled via the ignition key. It is powered by a fuse tap from the audio fuse. The battery power is then directed to the relay and onwards to the fog lamps using 14ga. wiring.















The lamps I found that will work are from an '04-'10 Nissan Armada. These have the proper canted angle that matches the NA NV200's bumper cutout. I paid about $40 from Amazon for these. Of course, Chinese knockoffs, but they look exactly like the factory ones. I could not tell the difference.








I proceded to cut the fog light blank-off's from the bumper with a sharp razor blade.








Once all the trimming was done, I placed the fog lamp over the hole. There is a marking on the face of the fog lamp that says "TOP". I took a sharpie marker and marked the side of the housing to help me orient it with the bumper. This isn't rocket science but I got it really close in alignment.









I used packing tape to hold the lamp in place and used clear silicone to simply "Glue" it onto the bumper. From there, I let it sit for 24 hours.









I also took the time to install a wire mesh grille to protect the oil cooler, radiator and a/c coil from rock damage. That is also glued in with silicone around the perimeter.














All done and ready to mate with the rest of the van.

















The bumper snaps in place with several snap pins and a total of 8 screws. Easy peasy.







I still have to do the under dash install of the relay along with the small fog light switch which is yet to be delivered.

So, Yes, it can be done. I've spent countless hours on the internet as well as the local auto parts houses trying to find the proper light to fit the angled opening of the bumper. The Armada/Titan fog lights are slightly oversized which made it perfect for using silicone on the inside of the bumper to mount them with. Try not to squeeze the silicone into the visible part of the light lens.

The best part is that they can be operated independently of the headlights. Also, when you turn off the ignition, the power shuts off the relay and thus, the lights too. No dead battery to return to.

It took me a while to figure out what lights to use as the global market outside of the US has a slightly different bumper with a different fog light cut out/angle. Using parts from that market would not work with the US vans.

While I was in there doing my magic, I could not help but notice that there is a heft of added steel at the front end with a bolted on crumple zone section. They did a good design on repairability in sub 30mph crashes with the US variant. The owner could pretty much do their own repairs if they were involved in an accident.

Well done TZ, fantastic write up! I am sure it will be very handy in the future for many members.

I really like the look, how is the direction on the beam pattern? Using silicone I guess its fixed?

PS can you upload a pic of the switch inside aswell?

So here's the fog light switch. I preferred to install it next to the traction control switch on the other side of the steering wheel which was closer to the headlight switch stalk, however there was too much crap under the dash in that area to safely drill a hole through, let alone secure the switches retaining nut. (Yes, I am the king of long sentences!)


I found the switch on eBay for $16 delivered. Shipping was more than the switch...






When it is on, there is a LED to indicate so.








The beam is at slight angles, however the 37watts will not blind anyone and the lamp has a black "cap" to prevent direct viewing of the filament beam.
















Yes, the fog lights are in a fixed position due to the silicone adhesive. I've successfully used silicone for years to hold stuff in all kinds of weather. The key is making sure the surfaces are completely clean.


In the end, the light produced helps for cornering rather than long distance. I am ok with that. It does look great without being obnoxious to other drivers/pedestrians.

Good work chap, I like the mesh grill addition as well, welcome to the club ;)

I know my luck I would fit the lights and have them both lighting up the sky!

You should not have any problems as there are proper parts to fit them on your van including the retaining clips to the bumper. I had no luck with the North American version due to the different bumper style. It's only slightly different in appearance, however much different for the angle and mounting of the fog lights.

The total cost for me to do this conversion was $70. On my Sprinter van it cost me closer to $800. So far, so good in terms of cost between the two vans!

where did ya find the black mesh? Might look nice on my NEW blue USA SV with tech/appearance/matts/mudguards!!...:) Just picked her up yesterday. Will be transporting a dirtbike mostly. Seems fun to drive, and was a GREAT buy..(leftover 2013)

I found it at Lowe's in the gutter section/roofing. It is a gutter guard to keep leaves out. From there, I had it powder coated.

Hi everyone, new to the forum and purchased my first 2014 NV200. I have found through scouring the net that to use a set of factory fogs it has to be a full set bracket kit from here ( http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0076PK390?cache=656d05ecb3d9a9bcd2f7ecd81128f133&pi=AC_SX110_SY165_QL70&qid=1403540392&sr=8-10#ref=mp_s_a_1_10 ) behind the round circles is the mounting tabs for foglights and these attach to those factory brackets. If you want to go all out with factory fitment of switching them on or off then you can buy the sentra steering turn signal stalk and wiring as well and everything plugs into the factory harness to use the fog fuse in the fuse panel but I wired mine to turn on and off with headlights. The factory fogs were 60 on amazon.

That's a good find. I found the same lights on Ebay with wiring for 46 and change delivered. OEM# 261505Z025 & 261555Z025

2017 NV200 (US) owner here. Loved this write up. Thank you to the OP.
Going to try to do this upgrade in the next few weeks.

I'm a little nervous about pulling the bumper cover off. I should be ok though. I pulled a lot of the interior out when I installed the Back-Up camera and LED lights. This should be a fun weekend project.
