So being the NV200 is a eco labelled van. Lets talk MPG.

No matter if its Diesel or Petrol.

Simply state your engine, hp and current mpg.

So mine is

1.5 dci 89hp DPF - roughly getting 45-47mpg.

I have a 12 plate 89bhp diesel model and with roughly 150 kg in the back of tools and materials I get between 38 - 40 mpg which I must say is totally rubbish.I trade in my old t reg Vauxhall combo with 123000 on the clock which carried at least another 60kg in weight plus ladder on the roof constantly and it gave me 45 mpg.
Just waiting for my next service which is Feb 14 and then it is gone this as got to be the worst mpg van I have ever owned.

Welcome SparkyPablo, Its a funny one........ My own experiences are not great, but I think we all know how Nissan get 58 mpg, 30 miles per hour 5th gear on a zero resistance rolling road in a lab, which is not reflecting real world mpg!

Just to add to the mix I installed a bluespark tuning box and gained 5-7mpg getting me closer to the magic 50mpg mark, but I have just moved back to London from the free flowing countryside and now the stop start traffic has dropped me back down to low 40s! Amazing change!

It also seem the DPF models are worse, is yours DPF equipped?

I've got the 2.0 litre gas (petrol for our friends across the pond) engine with the CVT transmission. I am averaging 24mpg. It's only a slight improvement to the sprinter van but wish the U.S. would have gotten the diesel engine. I'll gladly take 38-45mpg any day!

We do not have the option of a manual transmission or anything else but the 2.0 litre engine at this time. The NV200 is new to the USA for MY2013

1.5 dci 89hp DPF: 43-46mpg Lightly loaded, mostly open road cruising .

I can live with that, but was expecting better.

Thanks for the welcome MudFlap being a complete newbie what is DPF Model and is the bluespark tuning box one that plugs in instead of a perm remap.
Before I forget does anyone know where the diagnostic socket is on the NV200.
Also after running this van for nearly a year my mpg is now averaging aroud 35-38 mph took it to Nissan and was greeted with blank expression faces and the perfect there is nothing that can be checked as it is all done by computer oh and have you tried a diesel additive, amazing a 12reg van needing additive after 18k miles.

HI Sparky, DPF model is the Diesel Particulate Filter - it seems they steel 10% mpg! But these have to be fitted to meet euro 5 regulation from what I have observed the older NV's without DPF seem better on fuel!

Yes Bluespark box is the one which plugs in - not a permanent remap.

OBD2 (diagnostic) port is to the right of the steering wheel, below the cup holder. The card holder panel pulls off to reveal the socket.

Dealers will always come up blank on MPG figures, I remember my other halfs Mini cooper Diesel quoted 80's but was lucky to see high 50's which we just lived with! After BMW said it had no faults!

I have the same and get around 24mpg but if going around 55mph, I have made it up over 30mpg. Keep in mind that the mpg average display is really accurate. Several times I have filled up at 9.9 to 10.1 gallons and drove around 240 miles and the display will say 28mpg average so it makes it look a bit better than reality.

Cheers mudflap thats a big help, I have justed had it serviced and the fuel consumption is still only mid to high 30 looks like I have a lemon of a van thinking of selling but what to get as a replacement.??

My 2010 1.5 DCi SE 89 Puredrive is returning 57.3 (average over the last 2000 miles). It has 30k on the clock, is generally unloaded and driven carefully (not slowly). I find that to get high mpg you have to drive smoothly, no hard braking or acceleration, read the road ahead and other drivers so that you can prepare for junctions and roundabouts.

Previously I had a Renault megane with the same engine and averaged over 70 mpg in that throughout the 105,000 trouble free miles.

I am fortunate in that I live in a rural area, although that still challenges mpg from time to time ;-)

Hi Nugo, Almost sounds like proof that the older non DPF equipped vans are better on fuel!

I have heard rumours on the late DCI's even in Renault clios etc are pretty poor over the older ones. That DPF is taking 10-15% mpg overall.

Once mine is out of warranty I will chop that off and have it mapped out.

2.0 gasser with CVT. Ive got close to700 lbs of gear and tools added to mine plus another 220 for myself.
I get a consistent 23-24 around town and hitting 31-32mpg easily on hwy at 65 mph. Mixed is pretty consistent 26mpg. Thats corrected mpg compared to gps tracker miles as speedo is off 6% with bigger tires. MPG display reads just a tad less due to tire size but its pretty accurate.

You all are doing better than me. I have a cumulative average of 23.6 mpg with approximately 1944 miles on the odometer as of my last refueling. I am carrying only a bicycle and a small Engels cooler around. Probably less than 100 pounds cargo plus my 200 pounds. I keep it around 60 mph on the highway which is most of my driving. I expected better.

My mpg has gotten better as miles went by. I'm at 3500 now. I find I get best mpg on hwy at 65 mph. Engine seems to settle in there nicely.
I started out around 21 average and it's steadily increased. I don't drive like a race car driver but I'm no grandpa either. It's a work truck with gear in it.

I,ve had my Diesel Manual for about 6 weeks, I have clocked 1,500 miles a lot of heavy
traffic 26 mile round trip into and out of the Birmingham (UK) city centre most weekdays
with the occasional 100 mile trip out maybe 4 times ? The computer says 45.8mpg, if thats accurate you wont see me complaining....

MPG. Thread

NV200 - K9K / 89 engine covered 3300 miles and have an average MPG. read out of 52.2 It seems to have risen slowly over the miles so may be it will go higher?. Run vehicle light and cruise 50/60mph. over average 20 mile trip.
Have had van from new , 12 months ago and I am very happy with it
