[Mudflap]

As a previous German marque owner, little things annoy me!

If any of you guys have had an Audi or a later VW you get tiny red leds in overhead interior lights, when night driving you get a warm red glow in the cabin, its that's delicate its hardly noticeable until you don't have it!

Bored with the drab and very dark (at night) interior I had a go at this cheap mod.

Noticing a unused blank on the roof lining and a bit of twin core wire and a handful of flat headed 5mm orange LEDs I have managed to get this little bit done!

I have also added some in the cup holders for a nice low light glow! I will add pics later in the dark!

Where did you tap into for power , is it linked into the head light switch circuit.??
Did you get your Leds from. Maplins?
What holds the plastic cover plate to the roof / lining.

Thanks BV, I tapped into the hazard light switch, I will confirm the wire colour shortly.

Flat head LED's give a wide angle flooding kind of light.

Plastic cover is just clip on, had to modify the base slightly to take the wiring.

Where did you get the mirror cover plate? I want to remove my inside mirror since I am wiring up a rear view camera monitor. If I pull the mirror, there is a cut out in the headliner. I can't find that part in the USA catalogues. My van was equipped with rear door glass which I had limo tinted.

Hi TZ, these are a standard part in the UK, some of the vans have solid rear doors (no glass) and a interior mirror is not a fitted part, so we get the blank instead.
Where I placed the LED's I think I drilled through the part number, let me check it out for you.

How the roof lining is removed? There are two trim fasteners on the rear part but how the sun visors detach?
