Did you figure this out? I need to replace an exterior handle on a sliding door and I'm nervous to start taking things apart 😅 It seems like it's pretty easy to remove and replace the actual handle, but to get to it, it looks like a few things need to be disassembled?
It is easy. Be prepared to break most of the plastic clips that hold the super cheapo plastic door panel to the door. I just pull a bunch of the ones in the upper corner and bend it down to gain access. The Outer door handle is a horrible design with a junky piece of metal attatched to it that flexes when you use the handle. There is some adjustment at a plate where 2 cables meet. 2 10mm bolts and take the slack out of the cables to make the door open easier. I'll post pics one day, I rarely come on this forum as it's mostly used as a spam toilet.
