I read somewhere that switching to alloys from factory steel rims will decrease pay load capacity.
Is that true?
I have a Nissan NV200 and payload is 1500 lbs. Stock wheels are these tiny and expensive 185/60/15 cargo rated tires on steel 15" rims. I picked up a set of 16" aftermarket alloy rims and am upping to a 215/60/16 tire(It will fit perfectly).
My question is, the new tire load rating matches the OE tires, but will my pay load be decreased? since steel rims are stronger than alloys?
